Graduate student, Biological Sciences

California State University, Chico

Chico, Ca

My name is Joscelin and I am from the small town of Corning near Chico, Ca. I am pursuing a Master's Degree in Biological Sciences, Option in Cellular & Molecular Biology at CSU, Chico. Prior to this I attended Butte Community College then transferred to Chico State to complete my Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences. My research emphasizes how prenatal nicotine exposure on mice is associated with behavioral changes in fear and how it impacts memory.

The Param Lab

The Param lab, led by Dr. Kodeeswaran Parameshwaran, Ph.D, focuses on how the hippocampus in mammalian species is altered by disorders that have dementia as a primary symptom through observation of the molecular mechanisms. Examination on how the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine and memory is declined through drugs is a pivotal role in the Param lab.
